Now understanding what is desirable professional behaviors are and seeing that you possess them, is only part of the secret let's talk about the importance of illustrating these behaviors at work.
If you say to an interviewers that you can do the job if they give me chance. This is not enough anymore. Today you have to prove your ability and suitability. Every workin professional has a combination of skills that broadly defines his or her ability and suitability. How well you program that computer, service that client is part of the picture; knowing the steps involved well enough to be able to explain them clearly and simply to others is another part.
Now Questions Q. What Kind of Experience Do You Have For This Job? A. This is golden opportunity to sell yourself, but, before you do, be sure you know what is the most critical to the company. The interviewer is not just looking for a competent engineer, banker, secretary or what have you, but looking for someone who can contribute quickly to the current projects. When interviewing, companies invariably give everyone a broad picture of the job, but the person they employ will be a problem solver, someone who can contribute to the specific projects in the first six months. Only by asking will you identify the areas of your interviewer's greatest urgency and there interest.
If you do not know the projects you will be invloved with in the first six months, you must ask. Level headedness and analytical ability are respected and the information you get will naturally let you answer the question more appropriately. For example,a company experience shipping probelms might appreciate this answer, 'My high speed machining background and familiarity with your equipment will allow me to contribute quickly. I understand daedlines, delivery schedules and the importance of getting the producr shiiped.
Finally, my awareness of economy and profit has always kept rejects parts a bare minimum.
Q.Why Do You Want To Work Here? A. To answer this question, you must have researched the company and built a dossier about it. Your research work will be rewarded. Reply with tthe company's attributes as you see them. Cap your answer with reference to your belief that the company can provide you with a stable and happy environment- the company has that reputation- and that such an atmosphere would encourage your best work.
